Recipes
These are the foods I am feeding at the moment, and when and how much I feed.
NOTE: This diet is the basic diet for my 95lb 2 year old German Shepherd,
who as a less active dog receives roughly 1% of his body weight a day (ROUGHLY 1lb. I no longer weigh, I just eyeball it, but a good rule of thumb: 1 chicken quarter = 1 lb).
I also add any cheap meat cuts as I find them, so this is not a set in
stone diet, just a basic outline.
Zeke's basic diet has changed over the last year, but I have left both diets up as a reference point. Keep in mind, these are rough guidelines, and far from set in stone.
*Monday*
- 1 chicken quarter. A quarter is the thigh and drumstick combined and not seperated.
- 1-2 frozen cubes consisting of beef liver, chicken hearts, chicken gizzards, wild salmon oil, and occasional green tripe (along with other offal if I find them)
*Tuesday*
- 1 chicken quarter.
- 1-2 cubes of frozen offal
*Wednesday*
- Roughly 1 lb of mixed meat, no bone. Usually a mixed variety of saw trimmings from the local butcher.
- 1 egg, shell and all.
*Thursdays*
- 2 whole fish. I try to find fish that have not been cleaned and still have the organs, but that is hard. I stick to trout and other fresh water species, but sometimes do tilapia.
- 1 egg
*Friday*
- 1 chicken quarter.
- 1-2 cubes of frozen offal.
*Saturday*
- 1/2 a chicken carcass.
- 1 egg.
*Sunday*

*Wednesday*
- Roughly 1lb of mixed pork and hamburger meat.
